In Woody Allens' jazz documentary, Wild Man Blues, he tells an interviewer that like directors Sydney Pollock and Steven Spielberg he likes to make the kind of movie that he enjoyed as a young kid. Well, I guess that I have done a similar thing here on this recording. Growing up as I did, in the Bronx, in a culturally diverse neighborhood during the late sixties and early seventies some of the sounds that impacted my musical "Evolution" were R & B in general and Stevie Wonder specifically. On my CD EVOLUTION, you will hear reflected in the original tunes those very influences as well as actual Stevie Wonder songs and assorted nuggets like "Over the Rainbow", "You Don't Know Me" and "St. Thomas". I hope that you will enjoy it. Thank you, Rick Del Savio - September 2001 New York |
